A musical path begun in 2012
Founded in 2012, Quartetto Guadagnini received the Piero Farulli Prize at the XXXIII Franco Abbiati Awards from Italian music critics two years after its debut.
The quartet has performed at the Società del Quartetto di Milano, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Stradivari Festival in Cremona, Bologna Festival and MiTo SettembreMusica, among others, and internationally in France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Hungary, Japan, China, South America, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. In 2015 it performed with pianist Beatrice Rana at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, and has since collaborated with artists including Louis Lortie, Avi Avital and Enrico Bronzi.
Their discography includes recordings for Tactus and Brilliant Classics — among them a 2022 album dedicated to Wolf-Ferrari with pianist Costantino Catena. The quartet has appeared on RAI 3, RAI 5 and RAI Radio 3, and is currently Artist in Residence at Lucca Classica and Roma Sinfonietta. Its members play fine contemporary instruments and are official endorsers of Jargar Strings (Denmark).

Why Guadagnini?
The name pays tribute to Giovanni Battista Guadagnini and to the Italian tradition of violin making, where inherited knowledge and individual craft continually meet.
We come from four different regions — Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, and Puglia. Those different backgrounds are part of the way we listen, discuss and build a shared interpretation.
